 Umbilical Retrieval Tools
Umbilical Retrieval Tools are used for recovering sub sea umbilicals. Different umbilicals and different retrieval conditions require different tooling.
TDW Offshore Services has developed a range of different tool designs for a variety of applications.
The regular URT lifts the umbilical to the surface by clamping around the umbilical itself. The URT Bend Stiffener on the other hand, is connected at the bend stiffener element near the umbilical end.
When lifted, the URT Bend Stiffener Clamp slides over the bend stiffener elements. Due to the matching inner conical form of the URT, it acquires a firm grip around the bend stiffener, and can then lift the umbilical end to the surface.
