 Riser Handling
Setting a SmartPlug™ at the end of a dry pipeline before laying it down on the sea floor saves days of using a pipelay vessel.
It also allows dry tie-ins, using less expensive vessels to pick up the pipeline from the sea floor at a later date.
Using a SmartPlug™ during the handover of the pipeline from the lay vessel to the platform prevents flooding, should a wet buckle occur. The SmartPlug™ can also be used for flood prevention during lay down, lifting, or while placing the riser in the porch. |
